Posted Nov 13, 2023V 1.1 edit to the original feat ( https://www.dndbeyond.com/feats/1505176-grenadier )
There are still some rough edges in the feat I can not find a solution for, editing stuff in DDB is pretty new to me. Feedback or tips welcome
Created for a Gnome Cleric with Trickery Domain who is also specialising on using Alchemy and Tinkering tools to create grenades, incendiaries, and other thrown gadgets to be effective in combat without using up sparse spellslots all the time, keeping his spellslots for buffs, support for the party, and emergency healing.
As comparison, the PHB feat this was based on : Tavern Brawler Accustomed to rough-and-tumble fighting using whatever weapons happen to be at hand, you gain the following benefits:
Fun fact : The character concept is working quite well so far, with the gnome either using a shield while keeping his main hand free and throwing stuff, or even keeping both hands free and supporting and aiding the party, both from mid-range and in melee range. I like it, and picked the homebrew feat in lvl 4, rounding off my Dex to 14 and eliminating a major problem with my accuracy by gaining "proficiency with improvised grenades"
