Through time, training, and a little magical influence, you have formed a potent magical bond with a pet. The animal's loyalty is unquestioning, going beyond simple obedience and into devotion and love.
When you gain this feat, it is associated with an animal. This animal may be an existing pet, or one you gain as a result of acquiring the feat.
The pet will obey commands as best it can (you must control the pet during combat, but the DM may usurp control at any point - representing the pet's instincts taking over and/or its training failing). You will roll for the pet's initiative and otherwise manage it during combat. If your character is unable to act or absent, you will still control the pet in the manner of a secondary character (DM discretion).
The pet's alignment does not change.
If the pet is ever killed or otherwise removed from play, this feat may be applied to a new pet (if and when one is available) after 10 days of training and feeding. Wild animals require an additional 10 gp of resources and supplies to complete training.
