Prerequisite: Ability to cast at least one illusion spell
As a spellcaster whose talents lie in the art of deception and illusion, you have honed your skills to create illusions so convincing they challenge the boundary between reality and fantasy. Your deep understanding of illusions allows you to manipulate them in unique ways.
Benefits:
-
Enhanced Illusions: When you cast an illusion spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose one creature that has seen the illusion and force it to make an Intelligence (Investigation) saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature believes the illusion to be reality for the duration of the spell. This does not affect the creature's physical interaction with the illusion.
-
Illusionary Adaptation: Once per long rest, when you cast an illusion spell, you can alter the nature of the illusion (changing what it depicts, sounds like, etc.) as a bonus action. This alteration can be done at any point during the spell’s duration.
-
Mental Resilience: You gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
-
Distracting Illusion: Once per short rest, as a reaction when you are targeted by an attack, you can create a brief, momentary illusion that distracts the attacker. The attacker must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the attack roll is made with disadvantage.
Designer's Note: This feat is intended for characters like Mercury, The Maniacal. Who specialize in illusion magic. It enhances their ability to create and manipulate illusions, adding more depth and strategic options to their spellcasting. It also provides a defensive mechanism against certain mental effects and physical attacks, reflecting the character's mastery over the perception and minds of others.
