Brutal Grapple

This feat allows for a more aggressive and damaging form of grappling. Here's what it entails:

  1. Initiating Brutal Grapple: You can initiate a Brutal Grapple after a successful melee attack against a creature within your reach.

  2. Grapple Check Options: For the grapple check, you may use either your Strength score or your Athletics skill.

  3. Inflicting Injuries: While grappling, you have the option to inflict severe spinal or neck injuries. This requires an additional successful grapple check. The target must make a Constitution saving throw for spinal injury or a Dexterity saving throw for neck injury. Failure results in significant effects like temporary paralysis (2 turns) or incapacitation (4 turns), while success means the target takes half damage, and the grapple continues.

  4. Grapple Any Size: You can grapple creatures of any size.

  5. Throwing Opponents: As an action, you can throw your grappled opponent a distance of 30 feet multiplied by your Strength modifier. Thrown creatures take 1d6 bludgeoning damage for every 10 feet thrown, up to a maximum of 20d6 damage. If the thrown creature collides with another enemy, both take half of the total calculated damage.

  6. Slamming Opponent on Release: When you release the grapple, you can choose to slam the opponent into the ground, causing 2d8 plus your Strength modifier in bludgeoning damage.

  7. Use Outside of Combat: If used outside of combat, you can only hold a creature by the neck, following the suffocation rules.
