Aegis Of The Arcane Image
Prerequisite: Prerequisite: Spellcasting ability

You have honed your magical prowess to shield yourself from harm, weaving arcane energy into a protective barrier. You gain the following benefits:

  1. Arcane Aegis: As a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you can expend a spell slot to reduce the damage taken. The damage is reduced by an amount equal to 2d8 plus your spellcasting ability modifier for a 1st-level spell slot, plus an additional 1d8 for each spell slot level higher than 1st. The maximum spell slot level you can use for this ability is equal to half your character level, rounded down.

  2. Spell Absorption: When you succeed on a saving throw against a spell, you can choose to absorb a portion of its energy. You regain a spell slot of a level equal to or lower than the spell's level. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before using it again.

  3. Warding Aura: You can use your action to create a protective aura that extends 10 feet from you. This aura lasts for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated. Allies within the aura gain a +1 bonus to their Armor Class.

This feat reflects a character who has specialized in using magic not only for offensive purposes but also for defense. The versatility provided by Arcane Aegis and Spell Absorption allows the character to withstand attacks and recover spellcasting resources in the heat of battle, while Warding Aura provides support to allies in close proximity.
