Prerequisite: Constitution 15 or higher.

You have reserves of endurance far beyond those of normal people & are especially hard to kill. Not only do your wounds quickly stabilize when grievously injured, but you can remain conscious and continue to act even at death’s door. You gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on Constitution checks to avoid exhaustion, hold your breath, march for hours without rest, go without sleep, survive without food or water, or avoid temporary damage (when applicable).

  • When you are reduced to zero hit points, you have advantage on Death Saves. In addition, you need only succeed at two Death Saves to stabilize.

  • When you are reduced to zero hit points, you can choose to remain conscious and continue fighting rather than falling unconscious. You may choose to act as if you were Moribund, rather than dying, however, you have disadvantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws while in this state. You do not need to make Death Saves to stabilize and do not immediately die until you reach a number of negative hit points equal to your Hit Point Maximum. You must make this decision as soon as you are reduced to negative hit points (even if it isn’t your turn). If you do not choose to act as if you were Moribund, you immediately fall unconscious. If the negative hit points are not regained within a number of minutes equal to your Constitution modifier, you suffer instant death. In addition, for every minute the negative hit points remain, you suffer a level of Exhaustion.

Moribund
While Moribund, you may remain conscious and take a single action each round. You can use your movement without further injuring yourself, but if you perform any standard action (or any other action deemed as strenuous, including some swift actions, such as casting a quickened spell) you take 3 points of Moribund damage after completing the act. This type of damage can't be reduced by any means. Moribund damage is accumulated and resets to zero when you become stable. If the total accumulated Moribund damage equals or exceeds your Constitution score, you suffer instant death. Once you are stabilized after being Moribund, your hit point maximum is reduced by the amount of Moribund damage taken. This reduction lasts until you finish a long rest. If you take damage from a critical hit while Moribund, you immediately fall unconscious.
