Ignis, Gift Of Flames. Image

Bestowed to those by the Harbinger of Flames, Steel, Courage, and Rock, Khisai, those who are recognized as their children are cunning, passionate, and goal-oriented. They can bring forth lava, breath fire, and are masters at conjuring elemental rifts. Children of Khisai must be born near or around a desert, volcano, or harsh terrain. They never falter in their expertise.

As an Ignis, you harness the power of fire at your command. As a Halfite of Ignis, you can only use your gift in the presence of flames.

Elemental Color: Crimson.

Spellcasting Focus: a garnet crystal encased in a gold shell, with an added chain.

Godly Ability: Inspire. Children of the Flame can give inspiration to those around with fewer words than others.

Dance of Khisai: With every attack, whether melee or spell, you give an added 1d6 fire damage. This die increases by 2 every 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, and 18th level.

Spells: You have a pool of points known as an Ignis Tear; the number is equivalent to your spellcasting ability modifier + Arcana. If you don't have a spellcasting ability modifier, use your Wisdom.

You can use an Ignis Tear to cast spells without expending a spell slot. Ignis Tears are replenished by leaving an offering of gold at the base of a volcano or mountaintop, buried under an oak tree, or tossed into a fire for Khisai.

You can only cast up to the spell slot level that you know and have access to, for example, you cannot cast a 9th Level spell if you do not have access to 9th Level spells. This does not apply to Cantrips. If you do not use spells/are not a caster you only have access to Cantrips. Halfites of Khisai can only use these spells if fire is present within range.

The following list of spells peer into what you may learn and come across during your time as a Child of Khisai . You are granted four spells of each level, until 9th where you will be granted one spell. You may use an Ignis Tear to cast any of these spells, if you meet the prior prerequisites.

  • Cantrips: Control Flames, Green-Flame Blade, Fire Bolt, and Produce Flame.
  • 1st Level: Burning Hands, Searing Smite, Faerie Fire, and Chromatic Orb (Fire).
  • 2nd Level: Aganazzars Scorcher, Continual Flame, Dragons Breath (Fire), and Flaming Sphere.
  • 3rd Level: Elemental Weapon (Fire), Fireball, Melf's Minute Meteor, and Flame Stride.
  • 4th Level: Conjure Minor Elemental (Fire), Elemental Bane (Fire), Fire Shield, and Wall of Fire.
  • 5th Level: Flame Strike, Dawn, Bigby's Hand, and Summon Draconic Spirit.
  • 6th Level: Investiture of Flame, Sunbeam, Tenser's Transformation, and Arcane Gate
  • 7th Level: Delayed Blast Fireball, Firestorm, Draconic Transformation, and Prismatic Spray (Red).
  • 8th Level: Sunburst, Incendiary Cloud, Power Word: Stun, and Illusory Dragon.
  • 9th Level: Khisai's Flame.

Fighting Styles: If you are not a caster, but are recognized as a Child of Khisai, an Ignis, you still have the Gift of Fire flowing through your veins that may aid you in combat. There are 3 main styles that Khisians teach their prodigies, Tao, Shei, and Fuen. Choose one of the following options. You can't take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if you later get to choose again.

Tao: Tao refers to the ancient Sevillian script "to support." Even the smallest ember can aid you in battle. If any exposed flames, embers, or hot ash is in your line of sight, you can use your bonus action to capture a small sphere and fling it towards a nearby enemy. The heat radiates a consistent 1d6 fire damage on contact over the next 1d4 rounds until it burns away into the atmosphere. Alternatively, you can coat your blade, arrow, or hands in ash to harbor the same effect with every successful strike to an enemy.

Shei: Shei refers to the ancient Sevillian script "of great balance." You can wrap a thin veiled cloth of pure fire around your armor or person, which adds +3 to your AC and quickens your movement by 20ft. Anyone within 10ft of you must make a Constitution saving throw or be irritated by the heat for the next 1d4 minutes. Staying near you any longer past the duration will result in a continuous 1d4 burning effect that will dissipate once they leave your range.

Fuen: Fuen refers to the ancient Sevillian script "vast, deep." You invoke the dancing spirit of Khisai, and they infuse your life force with that of a flame. You gain +2 to your AC, and you can cast a lesser form of Fireball without expending a spell slot.

A bright streak flashes from your pointing finger to a point you choose within range then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 20-foot radius must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 4d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners. It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried.
