Illium, The Gift Of Light Image

The power to harness the essence of life itself by healing, to manipulate time, and to bring the light of day. Bestowed to those by the Goddess of Light, Beauty, Bravery, and Peace, Lux, one must be born under a Blue Moon. Those who have Illium are pure at heart, emotional thinkers, and kind-hearted individuals. Almost all of those touched by the light are Priestesses of Lux, and Oracles of Clairvoyance.

As an Illium, you harness the grace of light at your command. As a Halfite of Illium, you can only use your gift in the presence of sunlight.

Elemental Color: Yellow.

Spellcasting Focus: a pearl crystal encased in a gold shell, with an added chain.

Godly Ability: Immortality. Children of Illium are able to manipulate time, bring immortality, and eternal youth. With this in mind, you are able to see visions of ones past or future by touching bare skin at will, and can even present yourself as a visage or apparition in that timeline for 2 minutes. If one eats the Golden Heart of an oracle can be granted with eternal youth and immortality at the cost of the Illium child's life.

Light of Lux: With every attack, whether melee or spell, you give an added 1d6 healing or 1d6 radiant damage. This die increases by 2 every 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, and 18th level.

Spells: You have a pool of points known as an Illium Tear; the number is equivalent to your spellcasting ability modifier + Arcana. If you don't have a spellcasting ability modifier, use your Wisdom.

You can use an Illium Tear to cast spells without expending a spell slot. Illium Tears are replenished by leaving offerings at Shrines or Temples, under small patches of sunlight, or by dabbing holy water on their foreheads in ceremonial prayer.

You can only cast up to the spell slot level that you know and have access to, for example, you cannot cast a 9th Level spell if you do not have access to 9th Level spells. This does not apply to Cantrips. If you do not use spells/are not a caster you only have access to Cantrips. Halfites of Lux can only use these spells if light is present within range.

The following list of spells peer into what you may learn and come across during your time as a Child of Lux. You are granted four spells of each level, until 9th where you will be granted one spell. You may use an Illium Tear to cast any of these spells, if you meet the prior prerequisites.

  • Cantrips: Sacred Flame, Guidance, Mage Hand, and Message.
  • 1st Level: Cure Wounds, Detect Evil and Good, Divine Favor, and Shield of Faith.
  • 2nd Level: Detect Thoughts, Aid, Fortune's Favor, and Borrowed Knowledge.
  • 3rd Level: Revivify, Clairvoyance, Crusaders Mantle, and Mass Healing Word.
  • 4th Level: Aura of Purity, Divination, Guardian of Faith, and Greater Invisibility.
  • 5th Level: Banishing Smite, Commune, Wall of Light, and Reincarnate.
  • 6th Level: Planar Ally, True Seeing, Heal, and Word of Recall.
  • 7th Level: Crown of Stars, Divine Word, Etherealness, and Temple of the Gods.
  • 8th Level: Holy Aura, Sunburst, Antipathy/Sympathy, and Anti-Magic Field.
  • 9th Level: Lux's Wish.

Fighting Styles: If you are not a caster, but are recognized as a Child of Lux or Clairvoyance, an Illium, you still have the Gift of Light flowing through your veins that may aid you in combat. There are 3 main styles that Luxites teach their prodigies, Tao, Shei, and Fuen. Choose one of the following options. You can't take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if you later get to choose again.

Tao: Tao refers to the ancient Sevillian script "to support." When engulfed in full sunlight, you are able to cast a ray of beams across to touch your party (max Wisdom modifier). The light offers additional healing equivalent to half of your hit dice over the next 1d4 rounds, and while you are shrouded in sunlight, you gain +2 AC bonus, +3 to attack rolls, and all ranged attacks are now radiant damage.

Shei: Shei refers to the ancient Sevillian script "of great balance." Once per encounter, if the sun is in Dawn, Noon, or Dusk positions, you can materialize that light in front of you as a sphere. The sky will dim for a moment as you hold a manifestation of light in the palm of your hands, and can use your action to fling it at a singular or group of enemies, dealing 4d6 radiant damage on impact. All targets in range must make a Constitution saving throw or be inflicted as well. While holding this sphere of light, you gain an added +2 AC, double the movement, and +3 to attack rolls for the duration of the evening until the next dawn.

Fuen: Fuen refers to the ancient Sevillian script "vast, deep." In harmony, you are graced with the light of Lux or Clairvoyance. At your command, you are able to touch a corpse of your choice and revive them back to when they once died, up to the amount of times equivalent to your Wisdom modifier, but will permanently -1 of your Hit Dice with every use. You are unable to use this ability until the next dawn. Alternatively, you can look into the future at any point in time for up to the hours equivalent to your Wisdom modifier.
