Language of truth: This is an enchanted language, created thousands of years ago from a culture long forgotten. Words in this language contain the true definition of the item they are set to. (Example: Brinsngr means fire in the language of truth. Brisingr is not a name for fire, it is the name for fire, and contains all possible meanings of the word.) While speaking the language of truth, those who natively speak it have become masters of saying one truth, but often meaning another. It is impossible to lie and any oaths sworn in the language are impossible to break. Those who know the language often horde the words they know, and treasure new words more than gold.'

As a baby, a man cast a blessing on you in The Language of Truth (see first paragraph). This blessing turned to more of a curse. The man intended to say "May you be shielded from misfortune", but due to a grammar mistake he accidently said "May you be a shield for misfortune". This means that you can often sense the future pain of those around you, and you are urged to help prevent it. If you resist this urge, it can have negative consequences. The ability does not just show you people's physical pains, but even their fears, faults, and often their most embarrassing secrets. You cannot use this ability at will, as long as it does not come during unfortunate times, it could be useful.

Wyrding Nature: In order to have relief from the pains of others, you spent much time in nature, where you eased your mind through music. Over time, you learned that multiple plants responded to your singing, often growing into the shape of your desire, when you sung using the limited Language of Truth words you know. This ability uses energy, the amount is dictated by the size of the plants being affected (the exact amount is dictated by the DM) At level two, you will know 3 words in the Language of Truth, those will increase by 1 every level as you understand the plants more.
