You can understand the basics of a given language, but are not fully fluent. This feat must be justified by the players backstory or the in-game situation (e.g., a human in a party full of elves might eventually pick up some Elvish).
When you overhear or read this language, roll a D20.
- On a 9 or below, you do not understand.
- On a 10 to 14, you understand the basic translation/meaning.
- On a 15 or higher, you can fully translate the conversation or text.
