Increase your Intelligence score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Whenever a spellcaster is defeated in combat by you or your party, you can spend 1 minute examining their remains to glean any arcane knowledge they possessed. After this time, you can attempt an Intelligence (Arcana) check with a DC equal to 10 + the defeated spellcaster's level. On a success, you understand the intricacies of one spell from the defeated spellcaster's spell list. You can add this spell to your spellbook if it is of a level you can cast. Adding a spell to your spellbook using Arcane Spoils doesn't require any material components or gold cost. However, you still need to spend the usual amount of time and use your spellbook to transcribe the spell.
