Timely Terrain Analyst

Skilled at terrain analysis and with an uncanny understanding of time, once per long rest you may do each of the following:

• Take a moment to survey the battlefield.  Roll a d6.  Those are the number of terrain features (5'x5'x5' maximum each), that the DM forgot to add to the battle map.
• You may swap any willing allies position in the initiative order.  The values that each ally rolled for initiative stays the same, and the DM is not obligated to reveal any of the monsters positions in the initiative, but you may swap any allies that are willing to swap in the initiative order as rolled.

OR You may one-up the party.

If you have not used either of your features since the last long rest, you may forego the option to use the above features for 1d4+1 long rests in order to:

• Guarantee yourself at the beginning of the initiative order (Your initiative becomes whatever the highest rolled initiative  is +1).
• Guarantee yourself a turn during the Surprise Round. (This does not guarantee that every enemy is surprised; only that if/when there is a surprise round, your character gets a turn).
