You have made a deal with a devil and have sold them a piece of your soul. That devil can now talk to you telepathically through a tiny devil that appears on your shoulder. Only you can see and/or hear the tiny devil. At the DM's discretion, you can be influenced to act on your desires and may even be granted the abilities to do so.
When qued by the DM, you roll a d10. If 8 or greater you act on the devil's influence, less than you have free will.
However, if you roll 5 twice before the start of a new day, the devil's influence increases, and the required minimum temporarily drops by 1. This lasts until the start of a new day.
At any point, you or the devil can bargain more of your soul for power, money, magic, items, etc. Making a deal permanently lowers the required minimum by 1.
If the required roll drops to 0, you no longer have free will and are subservient to that devil. The only way to free yourself is for the devil to be killed.
