Cleave Image

When wielding a weapon that deals slashing damage, you have the potential to deal damage to a second opponent within melee range after a successful melee attack. The following features do not stack, and cannot effect more than the maximum of 2 creatures. If both effects are triggered, only Critical Cleave is used.

-Critical Cleave. When you roll a nat 20 on a melee attack, and there is an adjacent creature within melee range, you may use your reaction to attempt a second melee attack against that second creature. Reroll to-hit and damage dice. A second nat 20 does not chain this effect.

-Overswing Cleave. When you kill a creature, and there is an adjacent creature within melee range, you may use your reaction to attempt a second melee attack against that second creature. On a successful attack, all the damage dealt over the remaining HP of the first creature, is dealt to the second creature. Dealing damage ever the remaining HP of the second creature does not chain this effect.

Note: Defining "Adjacent". If you have a melee range of 5 ft, and your target creature is 5 ft in front of you, a creature behind them or behind you is not considered adjacent. But a creature immediatly 5 ft to their left or right, or immediatly 5 ft to your left or right, is considered "adjacent". If you have a greater than 5 ft melee range, targets must still be offset to the left or right, and not behind you or the target creature.
