For your turn, you can combine two spells of different names into one spell you may have one spell of this type stored this spell must be cast using the higher level spell slot used in the combination.
These spells must either be of the same school of magic or the same damage type if they have no spell school you may combine them without this restriction (note: you can not combine two concentration spells). In order to do this, you must expend spell slots equal to both of the spells being combined during the initial combination (lowest level cast only) and 1 sorcery point per spell combined each time this combined spell is cast.
In the case of cantrips if they are not damaging you may combine them freely
