A blessing given to you by Finstermis - Eclipse Incarnate, leading you the ability to manipulate light and dark to form one of his Moonshadow Hounds. You may cast Faithful Hound for free once per day, when you do so the spell is modified in the following ways:
- The spells duration changes to one hour and takes no material components or spell slots.
- The Moonshadow Hound is visible to all creatures but still can not be harmed through any means. Dispel Magic cast at 5th level or higher can dispel this spell.
- Counterspell can be used to stop this effect from going into effect, when this is attempted this action is treated as a 5th level spell.
- You select a 100 ft. cube when you cast this spell, as long as the spell persists the Moonshadow Hound can move around in this area. If you ever leave this area then the spell ends, with the Moonshadow Hound fading into the nearest shadow.
- The Moonshadow Hound moves directly after you in Initiative and will attack the nearest creature to itself that is hostile to you. When it does so you make an attack roll with an attack bonus equal to your highest modifier + your proficiency bonus. If this attack hits it deals 4d8 + your proficiency bonus Cold damage.
- You may choose to take 8d8 Cold damage, that can not be reduced by any means, to summon another Moonshadow Hound, when you do so it shares the area with any hounds you've already summoned, each will attack independently.
- If you go unconscious while this effect is active the spell continues, however if you die from any cause the spell will end immediately. The Moonshadow Hound will give a somber howl and will fade into the nearest shadow.
- You may spend a 5th level spell slot to cast this again. If you do so while the spell is already active any prior hounds change their positions to the newly designated 100 ft. cube and the duration is reset.
