You control powerful yet unstable magic. Gain an instability meter which increases every time you use a spell. The amount of instability gained depends on the power of the spell.
The meter has 10 stages, and at each stage you gain an additional 10% chance of triggering a wild magic surge. Using the revised wild magic table, at energy 0-5, if triggered, roll on the "nuisance" table. at 5-9, roll on the "moderate" table. At 10, you overload, and must immediately roll on the "extreme" table.
Once per long rest, you may also trigger "power overwhelming," which instantly puts you to 10 energy. For the next 3 turns, you may use 1st-4th level spells without expending spell slots, and can use metamagic without expending sorcery points. However, at the end of the 3 turns, you instantly overload, and must roll 3 times on the extreme wild magic table and take the worst effect rolled, determined by the DM.
At energy 5 or higher, triggering a wild magic surge or overloading also resets the meter to 0 energy.
