You excel at tracking and eliminating targets with precision. As a bonus action, choose a creature you can see within 60 feet as your Mark. The creature remains your Mark until the end of your next turn unless you use this action again on the same creature before then. The Mark ends immediately after you attack it or force it to make a saving throw. Each consecutive use of this action on the same creature increases its Rank by 1, up to Rank 3. The Ranks confer cumulative benefits:
- Rank 1: When you make an Insight, Perception, Sleight of Hand, or Stealth check against the Mark, roll 1d6 and add the number to the check.
- Rank 2: When the Mark makes an Insight, Perception, or Investigation check against you, roll 1d6 and subtract it from the check.
- Rank 3: The Mark is considered Surprised by you for any effect or ability that triggers on Surprise. If you force the Mark to make a Saving Throw, the Mark has disadvantage on that save. If the Mark would have advantage for being hostile to you or engaging you or your allies in combat, it does not have advantage. If you attack the Mark, the attack has advantage and it deals an additional 2d6 damage. Further, if this attack kills the Mark, you can make either a Dexterity (Stealth) or a Charisma (Deception) check against the passive perception of the creature with the highest passive perception that can currently see the Mark and does not want the Mark dead. If you succeed, nearby creatures do not notice that the Mark is dead for a few moments, allowing you to avoid detection.
