Arcane Sequencing (Aspect) Image
Prerequisite: Elemental Augmentation, Spell Savant (Must choose a spell which deals Acid, Cold, Fire, Lighting, or Thunder damage)

You understand the fundamental elements that you manipulate through spellcasting, and you know how to join them to accomplish the effects you desire.

When you take this Aspect, you become able to create new Elemental Effects by casting spells that deal elemental damage in sequence. You learn how to create two Elemental Effects from the list below:

  • Steaming Cloud. When you deal Cold damage to a creature with a spell, then deal Fire damage to the same creature with a spell, you cause the frost to evaporate into a thick cloud of steam. The area within a 5 foot radius of the creature you damaged becomes Heavily Obscured until the start of your next turn.
  • Sonic Combustion. When you deal Fire damage to a creature with a spell, then deal Thunder damage to the same creature with a spell, the air becomes pressurized, causing a deafening sonic boom. Creatures within 10 feet of the creature you damage must succeed on a Constitution saving throw vs your Mastery DC or be Deafened and suffer a penalty to their AC equal to a quarter of your Mastery Score.
  • Toxic Ionization. When you deal Lightning damage to a creature with a spell, then deal Acid damage to the same creature with a spell, the electrical current ionizes the liquid acid, forming a toxic cloud which lingers for 2 rounds and covers an area within a 10 foot radius of the creature you damaged. Creatures that start their turn in the cloud, or enter the cloud for the first time on their turn, must succeed on a Constitution saving throw vs your Mastery DC or become Poisoned until the start of your next turn. While Poisoned in this way, the creature also takes Acid damage at the end of their turn equal to a roll of your Mastery Dice.
  • Thermal Shock. When you deal Fire damage to a creature with a spell, then deal Cold damage to the same creature with a spell, the sudden change in temperature causes their form to become brittle, making them Vulnerable to Bludgeoning damage until the start of your next turn.
  • Electrostatic Storm. When you deal Thunder damage to a creature with a spell, then deal Lightning damage to the same creature with a spell, the area within a 10 foot radius of the creature you damaged becomes statically charged until the start of your next turn. When a creature within this area moves, or a creature moves into this area, they take Lightning damage equal to 2 rolls of your Mastery Dice.
  • Caustic Freeze. When you deal Acid damage to a creature with a spell, then deal Cold damage to the same creature with a spell, the liquid acid freezes to the creature, continuously burning them. Until the end of your next turn, every time the creature takes Cold damage, they also take additional Acid damage equal to a roll of your Mastery Dice. If you deal Cold damage to the creature before the effect ends, it is reapplied until the end of your next turn.

Special: You may take this Aspect multiple times, selecting two additional Elemental Effects when you do so.
