You can perceive the chronomantic aura that exists around all living beings (or beings that were once alive), most inanimate objects, and many buildings or environments.
Once per day as a free action, you can spend 1 minute concentrating on the aura surrounding a creature, object, to analyze it. You can choose to experience:
1. A rapidly accelerated vision of the target's past existence up to the present. You must pass an Intelligence (History) check determined by the DM to obtain total recall of one specific event if you choose to focus on it. Otherwise, you will have only a vague and general sense of what you have witnessed.
2. A rapidly accelerated vision of the target's multiple potential futures. Less likely futures will be more faint and difficult to perceive. By default your vision will be of what is currently the most likely future, but you may attempt to focus on a different timeline by making an Intelligence (Arcana) check, with the difficulty determined by the likelihood of the future you wish to view. You must also make an Intelligence Saving throw (DC 16) to avoid being overwhelmed by your attempt to block out the infinite number of alternate probabilities and concentrate on only one. If you fail, you take psychic damage (4d6) and 1 level of exhaustion. The vision ends immediately.
This ability may only be used to the above effect on creatures (or their remains) or objects or environments that could be confined to a 10 × 10 area. Anything on a bigger scale, such as buildings, land, or large rooms can only be observed as a very faint and general vision showing the typical effects of the passage of time.
Increases to 2 uses per day at level 10, 3 uses at level 14, and 4 uses at level 18. You may choose to expend some or all of these uses at once in order to spend longer than 1 minute viewing a target's possible future, but the Intelligence Saving throw DC increases by 2 for each additional use in the same day and the psychic damage from a failure increases by 2d6, with the exhaustion levels increasing by 1.
