Your mastery over magic is rivalled only by your flair for theatrics. Even in the heat of combat, you can turn each spell into a mesmerizing performance, captivating friends and foes alike with your dazzling displays. This feat grants the following benefit;
Mystic Flourish: Once per long rest, when you cast a spell that requires a verbal or somatic component, you can additionally choose to make a performance check in an attempt to bolster your attacks with the power of your stage presence, potentially enhancing its potency and leaving your adversaries awestruck. The number rolled on the check determines the outcome;
- 1 - 9: Your attempt at showmanship is ruined by a misstep, causing you to stumble and fall prone while casting the spell. Because of this, the spell's effects are weakened, dealing only half damage.
10 - 14: Your performance is passable, eliciting slight admiration from onlookers. The spell is cast as normal.- 15 - 19: Your display adds an extra spark to your spell, increasing its total damage by your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).
- 20 - 24: Your confidence while performing radiates like a beacon, unsettling those who oppose you. In addition to the previous effect, enemies have disadvantage on saving throws against the spell.
- 25 - 29: Your spellcasting becomes a mesmerising spectacle, each gesture and incantation executed with a precision and flair that can only leave onlookers filled with admiration for you. In addition to the previous two effects, allies within 30 feet of you gain advantage on their next attack roll.
- 30 +: You reach an unparalleled level of brilliance, transforming your magic into a performance of legend. The dazzling display becomes a performance of sheer light and power, overwhelming all who witness it and casting an awe-inspiring glow over the battlefield. In addition to the previous three effects, any enemy that fails their saving throw against the spell becomes "awestruck" by you until the end of their next turn.
Awestruck
Being awestruck represents an overwhelming sense of awe and distraction caused by the performer's level of performative brilliance. The target is so captivated by the performance that it cannot focus on the battle at hand.
- Effects:
- An Awestruck creature is incapacitated and becomes unaware of its surroundings apart from the source of its awe.
- On its turn, the creature must use any means necessary to move as close as possible to the source of its awe.
