You have godlike proficiency with an equipped shield. As it not only can prevent you from harm but those behind you as natural as breathing.

• When equipped with a shield, you can use it as an Extra Bonus Action to Attack only with a shield dealing 1d6+Str modifier bludgeoning damage. Then upgrades to a 1d12 at level 11.
• When using a shield you can use your total AC to protect anything that is directly behind you up to 20 feet. This applies to all Spells that use Dex Saving Throws, Abilities, and Legendary abilities.
• You can use the versatile weapon feature on weapons while wielding a Shield and you can use your shield damage die and add your level to reduce incoming damage to only yourself as a reaction once per turn.
