Your ancestry relates to the Kivva, an ancient race of enigmatic and immortal beasts whose existence predates the universe itself. Though your blood may be diluted after generations, the deathless vigor of your ancestors still stirs within you, unscathed by the passing of ages.

Drawing upon the genetic advantages of your nearly god-like ancestors, you can increase any one of your ability scores by 1. Additionally, you inherit the Kivva's immense regenerative abilities allows you to recover all HP lost during any given round of combat at the start of your next turn, provided that you are not unconscious, incapacitated, stunned, or poisoned.

Unfortunately for you, however, you Kivic blood is not without some unique weaknesses. For example, since the Kivva lived before even the sun and stars were born, they are not accommodated to the harm caused by radiant light or searing fire. Their immortal regeneration is also unable to heal any part of their body that is dissolved, amputated, or consumed, for there would be nothing left to restore. Therefore, any fire, radiant, or acid damage you take instead permanently reduces your maximum HP by the damage amount. The only way to undo this reduction is through the spell Greater Restoration, spending two or more minutes while under the effects of Regenerate, or some other magical healing of equivalent or higher power. When your HP maximum is reduced to 0, you immediately die without making death saving throws. Any reductions to your HP maximum caused by this feat are removed if you are resurrected from death.

Magical effects that directly cause death will instead only cause you to take necrotic damage until your remaining HP is equal to your Constitution modifier. Weapons that instantly kill via decapitation, such as the Vorpal Sword, will instead cause you to become unconscious until your head is reattached. Magical effects that damage or remove your soul will still function as normal, and any effect capable of obliterating your body entirely (such as the spell Disintegrate or being eaten alive) will still kill you.

If you change your species by magical means, such as the spell Polymorph or the Wild Shape class feature of Druids, then all effects of this feat except for the ability score increase are temporarily negated and replaced with normal gameplay rules as if you had never taken this feat to begin with until your true form is restored.
