You are a master of chance, using your gold and a bit of luck to tip the scales in your favor. You gain a number of special abilities that allow you to manipulate your rolls, all while gambling your gold for greater rewards.
You have a number of points (Jacks) equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all spent Jack Points after a long rest.
Level 0+ Abilities
Ante Up
-You can spend 1 Jack and 10 gold pieces to reroll any failed ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. You must use the new roll, even if it is worse.
Hit Me
-After making a reroll with Ante Up, you can spend additional gold to add to the reroll's result. For every 5 gold pieces you spend, you can add +1 to the reroll, up to a maximum of +5. This must be done before rolling.
Blackjack
-If the total of your reroll and any bonuses from Hit Me equals exactly 21, one of the following may occur:
-You score a critical hit or automatically succeed on your saving throw.
-You automatically succeed on the check or achieve an exceptional outcome decided by the DM.
Level 5+ Abilities
Double Down
-When you use Ante Up, you can choose to spend 2 more Jacks and double the amount of gold spent to gain advantage on the reroll.
Insurance
-If you roll a natural 1 on any ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can spend 2 Jacks and 20 gold pieces to treat it as a natural 20.
House Edge
-At the start of each day, you can set aside a number of gold pieces as your "bet." If you hit Blackjack during that day, you regain double the bet amount. If you don't hit Blackjack, you lose the bet.
