If you do not know the Find Familiar spell you learn it and can cast it once per long rest without expending a spell slot.
When you cast the Find Familiar spell you can designate a willing beast of CR 1 or lower within the spells range to become your familiar instead of choosing from the spell's creature list. The chosen creature gains all the additional effects from the Find Familiar spell and can be resummoned as the same species of creature if it dies.
Twice per long rest while you can see your familiar you can cause it to gain a number of hit points equal to your animal handling bonus (Minimum of 1 hit point).
The component cost for you to cast the Find Familiar spell is halved.
