You’ve developed the skills necessary to hold onto your target in a last desperate attempt.
-
Gain proficiency in unarmed strikes if not already proficient.
-
When your hit points drop to 0 but you are not killed outright, you can immediately make an unarmed strike with advantage against a creature within your reach. If the attack hits, you grab hold of the target.
-
While you are holding onto the target, you make death saving throws as normal on your turn.
-
At the beginning of the target’s turn, it must make a Strength saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failure, the target’s movement is reduced based on your weight:
- Small creatures: For every 50 pounds you weigh, the target’s speed is reduced by 15 feet.
- Medium creatures: For every 100 pounds you weigh, the target’s speed is reduced by 15 feet.
- Large creatures: For every 150 pounds you weigh, the target’s speed is reduced by 15 feet.
- Huge creatures: For every 250 pounds you weigh, the target’s speed is reduced by 15 feet.
- Gargantuan creatures: For every 500 pounds you weigh, the target’s speed is reduced by 15 feet.
-
You gain one level of exhaustion for every 5 turns you remain holding onto your target.
-
The target can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check contested by your Strength (Athletics) check to break free.
