You have honed your skills to seamlessly blend martial prowess with arcane power, turning your blade into a conduit for your magic. You gain the following benefits:
-
Arcane Strikes: When you hit a creature with a longsword or shortsword attack, you can expend one spell slot to deal additional force damage to the target. The extra damage is 1d8 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d8 for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d8.
-
Spell Parry: When you are holding a longsword or shortsword and a creature you can see within 5 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the creature. If the attack hits, the creature must succeed on a concentration saving throw (DC equals 10 or half the damage you deal, whichever number is higher) or the spell fails and has no effect.
-
Arcane Deflection: While you are wielding a longsword or shortsword, you can use your reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your AC against one melee attack that would hit you. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
-
Enhanced Spellcasting: Choose one 1st-level spell from the wizard or sorcerer spell list. You learn that spell and can cast it once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to cast it in this way when you finish a long rest. Your spellcasting ability for this spell is the same as your other spellcasting class.
