Prerequisite: Proficiency with shields

Through sheer force of will and rage, you can draw the attention of your enemies and use your shield to both protect and strike.

  • Ability Score Increase: Your Constitution score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.

  • Protective Fury: When you enter combat, you can use a bonus action to enter a state of furious fighting. Your presence goads opponents into fighting you. For the next minute, any creature within 30 feet of you that can see and hear you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). On a failed save, the creature has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than you until the start of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

  • Running Shield Bash: When you take the Attack action while wielding a shield, you can use your movement to execute a powerful shield bash. As part of the same action, you must move at least 10 feet in a straight line toward a creature. When you reach the creature, you can use your bonus action to make a melee attack with your shield. This attack deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be pushed 10 feet away from you. Additionally, if the target fails the saving throw, you can move up to half your speed toward the target after the push.
