Amethyst Vampire Bloodline Image

The Amethyst Vampires are a unique lineage of vampires descended from a powerful Vampire Lord who aligned with the Amethyst Order, a mystical faction on the Amethyst Isle. Unlike other vampires, they have integrated the arcane energies of the Isle into their very being, gaining powers that surpass those of typical vampires. However, they retain some traditional vampiric weaknesses, such as a reliance on blood for sustenance.

These vampires walk a delicate line between their vampiric hunger and the strict code of conduct imposed by the Order. Any breach of this code results in the loss of their enhanced powers, reverting them to a cursed state.

Children of the Night

The night holds no secrets for the Amethyst Vampire, and they can command its creatures.

  • Darkvision: You gain 60 feet of darkvision.
  • Summon Swarm: Once per long rest, you can summon a swarm of bats or rats to assist you.

Amethyst Ancestry

Amethyst Vampires retain certain vampiric traits, enhanced by the magic of the Amethyst Isle.

  • Necrotic Resistance: You have resistance to necrotic damage.
  • Psychic Resistance: You have resistance to psychic damage.
  • Sunlight Effects: Amethyst Vampires (both turned and pure-blood) do not suffer radiant damage from sunlight. However, while in direct sunlight, they lose their regeneration and need to eat, drink, and sleep like mortals.
  • Stake to the Heart: If a piercing wooden weapon is driven into your heart while incapacitated, you are paralyzed until the stake is removed.

Fanged Strike

Your vampiric fangs are a deadly weapon and a means to feed.

  • You can make an unarmed strike with your fangs, dealing 1d6 piercing damage. If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with this attack, you regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt.
  • Level Progression: The damage of Fanged Strike increases as you level up:
    • At level 4, the damage increases to 1d8.
    • At level 8, the damage increases to 2d6.
    • At level 12, the damage increases to 3d6.
    • At level 16, the damage increases to 4d6.
  • You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Blood of the Amethyst Vampire

The mystical connection to the Amethyst Isle grants you the following abilities:

  • Amethyst Resonance: You gain advantage on saving throws against charm and fear effects.
  • Crystalline Armor: Once per long rest, you can summon a magical shield of amethyst crystal that grants a +2 bonus to AC for 10 minutes.

Amethyst Regeneration

Your vampiric body rapidly repairs itself as long as you are not in direct sunlight.

  • At the start of your turn, if you have at least 1 hit point, you regain hit points equal to 1 + your Constitution modifier + half your level (rounded up).
  • All Amethyst Vampires lose their ability to regenerate while in direct sunlight, regardless of whether they are turned or pure-blood.
    • Check Bloodline Growth for changes in effect of sunlight.

Protection of the Amethyst Wings

You may summon phantom amethyst wings, which protect you from falling damage (up to 40 feet).

Blood Magic: Blood Oath Ritual

Amethyst Vampires can bind themselves to allies through ancient blood rituals.

  • Once per day, you can perform a Blood Oath Ritual with a willing ally. For 1 minute, you share hit points with the bonded creature (half of any hit points regenerated is transferred to the ally), Additionally, you both use the highest Constitution modifier between you for the duration.

The Progenitors Oath

Amethyst Vampires are bound by an ancient oath, forged by Vlad Dracul Tepesh himself, ensuring loyalty to the Amethyst Order and control over their darker impulses. Breaking this oath comes with devastating consequences:

  • Oathbreaker Penalty: If an Amethyst Vampire breaks their oath, they lose all unique blessings of their bloodline and revert to the cursed state of a common vampire. This magnifies their weaknesses and bloodlust.
  • Magical Item Destruction: Any magical items created by the Amethyst Order to protect the vampire from sunlight shatter, dealing 10d8 radiant damage to the oathbreaker.

This serves as a final reminder of the unyielding power of the Progenitor’s Oath.

Bloodline Growth

When an Amethyst Vampire reaches level 10, their bloodline strengthens, enhancing their physical or mental attributes. For turned vampires, they must receive assistance from stronger vampires, usually through a blood transfusion or ritual.

Vampires who undergo this transformation and reach level 16 develop complete immunity to the effects of sunlight, no longer losing their regenerative abilities or needing sustenance during the day.

Amethyst Vampires typically divide their progression into two paths (Find Feat depending on which you choose):
