Herald of the Sun grants its bearer the luminous power of the divine sun, marking them as a chosen emissary of celestial fire. Radiating divine energy, they possess the unique ability to channel the pure essence of sunlight, defending their allies with radiant shields and striking enemies with blinding rays. Their bond with solar divinity is heightened by the eternal vigilance of the sun, making them harbingers of eternal light in a world where shadow dares not tread.
Radiant Shielding. While in the light of the sun, a radiant shield surrounds allies within 30 feet. This shield gives an +2 AC bonus. While standing within this aura, allies also gain resistance to necrotic and radiant damage. This ability stops in dark locations or when the sun sets.
Searing Sunburst. As an action, summon a sphere of blinding sunlight within 60 feet. It radiates extreme brightness in a 30-foot radius, dealing 6d6 radiant damage to all creatures within the range. Creatures must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier); those that fail are also blinded until the start of your next turn. The sphere lasts for 1 minute and can be moved 30 feet each turn with a bonus action. This ability can be used once per long rest.
Solar Purge. Once per day, as a reaction, you can dispel all magical darkness within 120 feet and immediately deal radiant damage equal to your current hit points to every fiend or undead within the same radius. Creatures hit by this ability must also succeed on a Charisma saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or be banished to a random plane of existence for 1 minute. Upon return, they take an additional 3d10 radiant damage. You can choose which creatures are affected.
Lightbringer’s Will. At midday, as long as you are in direct sunlight, spend 1 hour concentrating to invoke the direct attention of a solar deity. Once successful, you may pose one divine request or question, and the deity will respond in a vision or omen by sundown. These responses are cryptic but truthful. After utilizing this ability, you cannot call upon the deity again for 7 days to avoid overburdening the divine connection.
