Herald of Gluttony is a divine feat that marks the adventurer as a dark herald of insatiable hunger. Their body and soul have become conduits for the endless, corrupting appetite of a forgotten deity of gluttony, granting them terrifying power at a dreadful cost. Those who bear this curse manifest an overwhelming need to consume not just food, but magic, life essence, and even elements of reality itself. The more they satiate this hunger, the more they warp the world around them, consuming blessings and turning them into curses. This feat grants terrifying abilities, but it leaves nothing of the soul intact.
Devourer’s Defilement. Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack, you can choose to consume their life force. Doing so allows you to regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt + 6d4. For the next hour, you also gain a bonus to all damage rolls equal to the challenge rating of the creature consumed (minimum +1). However, your physical form begins to corrode into something inhuman. Every fifth creature devoured in this way reduces your Charisma score by 1 permanently.
Hollow Hunger. Your unending hunger expands beyond the physical realm. Once per day, you can target a magical effect, such as a spell or magical barrier within 60 feet, and devour it as if it had never existed. The effect is instantly nullified, and you regain one use of a 5th-level spell slot. However, every time you consume magic in this way, one type of magic (e.g., Evocation, Illusion) progressively ceases to function for you, rendering it unusable for 24 hours.
Terrifying Maw. After using 'Devourer’s Defilement' three times in a single day, your jaw distends unnaturally, transforming into a terrifying void of abyssal hunger. As an action, you may exhale a cone (30 feet) of corrupting hunger that forces all creatures within the cone to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failure, creatures take 8d8 necrotic damage, and you regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt. On a success, they take half damage and are unaffected by the hit point drain. After using this ability, you cannot speak intelligibly for 1d4+1 hours.
Insatiable Devourer. Your connection to the deity of gluttony has made you a living engine of consumption, with powers extending even to time itself. Once per long rest, when you are faced with death or grievous injury (when reduced to 0 hit points or taking massive damage), you can consume a moment of time, briefly rewinding events to avoid your peril. In doing so, you may move back to any point within the last 6 seconds in your turn order, negating damage and resetting your status. However, each time you use this ability, you must devour an equal number of years from your own lifespan (minimum 10 years). These years are consumed instantly, and the effects are irreversible.
