Prerequisite: Your size must be small or less and you must be proficient in shields.

You must be wearing a shield.

When a target you are riding on (such as sitting on an ally’s shoulders, riding on an ally’s back, riding on a horse etc...) is targeted by an attack, spell, or effect you add your shield’s AC to the targeted creature or ally.

When a effect would cause both you and the creature or ally you are riding to roll a saving throw, you can use your reaction to grant advantage to the creature or ally you are riding by giving yourself disadvantage. If you would otherwise have advantage on this save, you can simply grant it to the creature or ally you are riding in place of yourself. If the creature or ally would have disadvantage, you simply nullify that disadvantage. You cannot use this feature if you would otherwise have disadvantage on the saving roll.

If you aren’t incapacitated, you can add your shield’s AC to any Dexterity saving throw you make against a spell or other harmful effect that targets only you. You cannot use this feature if you are riding a creature or ally.

If you are the subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you can use your reaction to take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, interposing your shield between yourself and the source of the effect. You cannot use this reaction while riding an ally or creature.
