You're a vampire but don't wanna take Dhampir. You get perks and drawbacks, big shocker. You gain the following racial traits:
- Undying Nature. Your creature type is Undead for the purposes of features and spells that detect your creature type, such as a Paladin's Divine Sense; but you suffer no other effects from being Undead. In addition, you don't need to breathe.
- Sunlight Sensitivity. You have disadvantage on attack rolls and Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of the attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
- Stake to the Heart. If a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into your heart, you become incapacitated until the stake is removed. If you suffer a critical hit from a wooden weapon, that weapon has a 20% chance of piercing your heart and killing you instantly. This chance is reduced to 10% by a higher AC than 15.
- Trauma. Until you get over your trauma (DM and player discretion), whenever your form changes (such as through a Druid's Wildshape feature or a Changeling's Shapechange feature), you take 1d12 psychic damage, which can't be resisted in any way. This damage can't kill you or bring you to 0 hit points. However, you have advantage on saving throws against spells or effects that would change your form against your will.
