Prerequisite: Requires at least 3 levels Sorcerer or the Metamagic feature

You learned to compress your Magic when attacking. The physical strain to control the additional power takes it toll though.
You gain a new Metamagic Option: Compressed Magic.

When you make a Spell Attack you may chose to use up to 3 Sorcery Points to empower the spell at the cost of accuracy.
Reduce your Attack roll by 1 for every sorcery point used, and gain 1d4 additional Damage per point spent.

The additional Damage increased to 1d6 at level 7 and 1d8 at level 11

Starting at level 11 you may spend up to 3 additional sorcery points to further increase the amount of additional damage dice at the same rate.

If the attack misses, there is a 5% chance for the volatile magic to erupt. If you rolled a critical failure on your attack this effect is guaranteed.
The magic will travel it's maximum range in a random direction dictated by a roll of 1d8, where the spaces next to the target creatures are numbered starting at the top left space.
Upon reaching it's maximum range, the magic aggressively disperses. Creatures within 5 ft. of the impact need to succeed on a dexterity saving throw or take half the spells damage rounded down. For melee spell attacks the range for this effect is considered 5 ft, centering the area of effect on the field rolled.

This Metamagic has 1 Charge that resets when completing a Short or Long Rest.
