Devoted Companion Image

Heroic Tier

Prerequisite : Paladin, Hospitaler. Must worship Bahamut. Must not be trained in Mounted Combat. Requires DM's Blessing.

Benefit : You gain the Devoted Companion feat- the ability to tame and raise a willing creature as a pet and devoted companion. More than a pet, the creature and it's master form an unbreakable bond, a symbiotic relationship that strengthens over time. Pets cannot be used for mounted combat. The pet is considered an ally to it's companion and that character's allies. Devoted companions are non-aggressive creatures who instinctively flee for safety at the first sign of danger, instinctively knowing only return to their paladin companion after combat, to avoid distraction.

Your devotion for protecting the innocent, defending justice and combatting evil are unwavering convictions and Bahamut is your guiding compass. But even the most pious and faithful worshipers of Bahamut have voids in their life that can only be filled through selflessness. Paladins do not choose their pet, just as soulmates do not choose one another; it is Bahamut's divine power that unites a character and creature into devoted companions, often after a twist of fate.

+2 Insight and +2 Perception checks while companions are united. +1 to all skill checks in combat.

Size: The maximum creature's size is Large.
