Whether due to an Oath, having made a deal with them, or just from random chance chance, you have been claimed by a higher Fiendish being to serve them after your mortal existence has perished in the Material Plane.
When you die, your soul is transported to one of the Negative Planes of existence (Nine Hells, The Abyss, Hades, ect.), and you are transformed into a Fiendish Creature with a CR of half your level or lower. This becomes your permanent form while in death, despite if you die a second time with a higher level.
If you were to be brought back to life after dying; you gain the following attributes:
- Your race changes to a Tiefling if it wasn't before, having physical characteristics similar to the creature you become in death
- You become proficient in Religion if you were not already, and you gain advantage when identifying something Fiendish in Nature
- Creatures Fiendish in Nature see you as a friend, but Creatures Celestial in Nature become more hostile towards you
