Prerequisite: Requires the Find Familiar spell

Your expertise with the familiars you conjure as part of the Find Familiar spell reaches a new level of mastery, improving your ability to work in tandem with your summoned familiar.

  • Increase your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You learn the Find Familiar spell and can cast it once per day without expending a spell slot. When you cast Find Familiar, you only need half as many material components to complete the casting of the spell. You may also choose from among the following additional animals when selecting your familiar's appearance: badger, boar, eagle, fox, hare, mastiff, or sheep.

  • When you cast the Find Familiar spell, you can summon or dismiss your familiar as a bonus action instead of an action.
  • In addition, the familiar you summon has increased maximum hit points. Each time you change the appearance of your familiar roll a number of d6 equal to your proficiency bonus, then add your spellcasting ability modifier to the total. The Familiar has that many hit points. You can reroll the familiar's maximum hit points by consuming the spell's materials again. If you do, treat a roll of 2 or lower on the d6 as a 3.

  • Your Familiar's AC becomes equal to your Spell Save DC if your DC is higher than its base AC. In addition, when your Familiar is within 5 feet of you, it gains a bonus of +2 to its AC and only takes half damage from area of effect sources.
  • Your Familiar can take the Attack action on its turn. When it does, you may have the damage type of the Familiar's attack become magical piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning, as appropriate to its weapon. If you do, the attack deals 1d6 + your Spellcasting ability modifier damage.
