You gain mastery over your own magical abilities, you've discovered an ancient technique called "Spell Charging" which allows you to chant and full focus on a specific spell, expending an extra spell slot to cast that spell, in exchange, you become completely vulnerable to all attacks towards you, enemies have advantage while attacking you, and you can't move or do anything on your turn if you decide to Charge your Spell.
Charging a spell by expending a spell slot would play out like this: you begin charging the spell and charge until you have expended three level three spell slots for fireball, when it's released it would be like casting three fireballs all at the same time, except it's one fireball.
