Prerequisite: Level 6

Starting at 6th level, your Wild Shape ability becomes harder to control than before. Your mind starts to slip, and the creature you shapeshift into fights for control of the form. If you use Wild Shape, you must succeed on a DC 8 Wisdom saving throw or move directly towards the nearest creature to you and use the Attack action against that creature. The effect only works if you can attack on the same turn. If you Wild Shape with less than half of your maximum hit points, you must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. If you are under an effect that prevents you from concentrating, you automatically fail this saving throw.

  • In a moment of savagery, you gain advantage on your first attack in Wild Shape, whether you succeed or fail the saving throw.
  • On a critical failure of your Wisdom saving throw, you must use all of the attacks on your turn immediately against the nearest creature, friend or foe. If you have no attacks or movement left on your turn, you use the Pounce trait to attempt a melee attack.
  • On a critical success of your Wisdom saving throw you can choose to use the Pounce trait on a creature of your choice.

At Higher Levels: The save DC increases by +1 for every 2 levels you gain.
At level 10, you must succeed a level 8 DC Wisdom save. On a fail, you must stay in a beast shape. The effect ends when Wild Shape runs out - the number of hours equal to half your druid level (rounded down).
