Once per short rest, when you fail a skill check or saving throw, you can choose to learn a small trick or technique that could help in the future. You gain temporary proficiency in that skill or saving throw for 1 hour. The proficiency granted doesn’t stack with existing proficiency, and you can’t learn the same trick more than once in a 24-hour period.
