Wandering Hand Of The Gale Image

This eerie, wind-infused hand is bound to you by a mischievous curse, giving it an unpredictable yet useful presence. While attuned to this item, you gain the following benefits:

  • Phantom Reach. (No Action) Your detached hand can float up to 30 feet away from you and still function as if it were attached. You can use it to perform the following:
    • Detached Interaction: (Bonus Action) The hand can interact with an object, picking it up or moving it to a space within 10 feet of the hand as long as said space is within the hand's range.
    • Touch Spell: (Special) The hand can cast touch-based spells from your spell list, but it must follow all spell rules. Spell range, AoE, and general effects center on the hand instead of yourself.
    • Airborne Strike: (Action) The hand can make unarmed strikes against creatures, but it uses your Dexterity modifier instead.
    • Phantom Recall: (No Action) Just as it costs no action to detach the hand, it takes no action to re-attach it to your being.
  • Windborne Charm. Your Charisma or Dexterity score increases by 1, up to a maximum of 20.
  • Evasive Wanderer. The hand does not provoke opportunity attacks while attached. It's a hand.

Curse of The Wandering Hand

The Curse of The Wandering Hand is bound to you and causes one of your hands (DM’s choice) to detach and reattach at will, becoming the Wandering Hand of the Gale. The hand becomes semi-mischievously sentient, often performing unpredictable or troublesome actions. It may refuse to cooperate with you at times, disobeying simple commands, stealing small items, or even performing pranks on nearby creatures.

The hand cannot be forcibly controlled by others. It cannot be harmed or rendered incapacitated through normal means, but will return to its proper place on your body after an hour of detachment or upon your command. While detached, the hand may take actions that serve its own whims, such as interacting with objects or making minor gestures, often leaving a trail of mischief behind.

Curse Reference:

The hand retains its own mischievous will, occasionally performing unintended actions such as:

  • Grabbing objects without permission.
  • Flipping the bird at authority figures.
  • Attempting to strangle or slap enemies (or allies) at inconvenient times.
  • Scuttling off on its own to cause problems, only to return later as if nothing happened.

Curse Reinforcement: The Wandering Hand curse is permanently irrevocable, even by divine intervention. The hand will always remain sentient, forever bound as a curse to the wielder
