Staring at the 1st level you gain a level 1 bonded Fire Dragon. You may telepathically communicate with your bonded dragon while you are within the bond range.

Starting at the 1st level you may add Detect Magic and all 0 EP Fire Powers to your list of Powers known. These are in addition to the number of Fire Powers added to your list of Powers known each level. The maximum amount of EP you can spend on the single use of a Power equals your Dragon Rider class level and you may only use Powers while you are within the bond range of your bonded dragon.

Fire Resistance: Starting at 1st level, you gain resistance to fire damage

Fire Rage: Starting at the 2nd level, while you and your dragon are within bond range, you may use your bonus action to erupt in a fiery rage that lasts for 1 minute. While raging in this way your entire body is engulfed in flames and you gain enhanced strength. Any creature that begins their turn within 5 ft. of you takes fire damage equal to your class level; additionally, you gain advantage on all melee attack rolls made while raging. You may use Fire Rage a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency modifier. After finishing a Fire Rage, you take on one level of exhaustion.

Fire Immunity: Starting at 8th level you gain immunity to fire damage.

Sentient Fire: At the 20th level you and your bonded dragon may temporarily combine your bodies and draw in ambient sentient fire motes from miles around. You transform into a Sentient Magic consisting of 100 sentient fire motes. You must be touching your bonded dragon and use an action to make the transformation. Both you and your dragon collectively transform into the sentient magic. The transformation lasts for 1 minute or until the sentient magic drops to 0 EP. Your statistics, including mental ability scores, are replaced by the statistics of the sentient magic, but you retain your alignment and personality. When you revert back to your normal form, you return to the number of hit points you had before transforming. If you revert as a result of dropping to 0 EP, any excess damage carries over to your dragon rider form. As long as the excess damage doesn’t reduce your dragon rider form to 0 hit points, you aren’t knocked unconscious.

As sentient magic you are limited in the actions of the sentient magic as shown in the stat block below and cannot use the Powers or abilities of your dragon or rider forms.
