There are those who move unseen—not by mere skill, but by an unnatural stillness that defies the senses. Whether by training, a blessing from the shadows, or an ancient curse, you have stepped beyond the veil of perception.
Legends speak of assassins who vanish the moment they are seen, their presence like a whisper lost in the wind. Some say they are spirits, cursed to wander in silence. Others claim they are mortals who have bargained with forces beyond time, slipping between the cracks of reality itself.
When the silence breaks, it is already too late. A blade in the back, an arrow loosed from the void, or a spell cast from the unseen—by the time the victim understands, the assassin has already vanished once more, a fleeting ghost in the endless night.
Features
- You are permanently Invisible unless you attack, cast a spell that deals damage, or take damage. You gain +6 to Stealth and you can make Stealth check as a Bonus action to go back invisible.
- Interacting with objects must make a Stealth or Sleight of Hand (Dexterity) to maintain the invisibility.
- If you break invisibility, you regain it at the end of your turn if you haven’t attacked or taken damage since your last turn.
- While invisible due to this feat, you are undetectable by non-magical means unless a creature succeeds on a Perception (Wisdom) check against your Stealth (Dexterity) roll.
- You leave no footprints, make no sound when moving, and are immune to being tracked by non-magical means unless you intentionally leave a trace.
Out of Combat
- You immediately become invisible at the end of combat and remain hidden indefinitely as long as you don’t attack, take damage, or interact with objects in a way that reveals your presence. You can still talk without breaking the invisibility.
- If you break your invisibility, you will become invisible again in a few moments if you are not doing anything that makes you reveal your presence.
- You can follow targets unnoticed, infiltrate areas undetected, or eavesdrop without fear of discovery unless the observer has magical detection or true sight.
- Creatures attempting to detect you without magic roll Perception at disadvantage.
Shadowstrike
When you break invisibility with an attack or a damaging spell, your strike is deadly precise:
- Melee & Ranged Attacks:
- If you hit a creature while flanking (i.e., you and an ally are on opposite sides of the target), the attack is a Backstab and automatically scores a Critical Hit.
- If you are not flanking and have no allies within 10 feet of the target, you instead deal an additional 2d6 damage on the first attack that breaks invisibility.
- Spell Attacks: If the spell deals damage, you add 2d6 additional damage of the spell's type on the first target hit when breaking invisibility.
