You have attuned yourself to the whispers of the void, granting you the ability to absorb and harness arcane energy. You gain the following benefits:
-
Void Absorption: When you are targeted by a spell or in the area of effect of a spell, you can use your reaction to attempt to absorb it. Make an ability check using your spellcasting ability (or Intelligence if you do not have a spellcasting ability) against the caster’s spell save DC.
-
On a success, the spell is negated, and you absorb its magical energy. If the spell is of a level equal to or lower than half your proficiency bonus (rounded up), you can store the energy for later use.
-
If the spell is of a higher level than you can absorb, you take half damage (if applicable) and gain temporary hit points equal to twice the spell’s level.
-
-
Stored Arcana: You can hold a single absorbed spell for up to 1 minute. As an action, you can release the stored spell, casting it at its original level without expending a spell slot. You do not need to provide material components unless they have a cost. If you do not cast the spell within a week period, the energy dissipates harmlessly.
- Void Sight: While you are holding onto an absorbed spell, your mind partially slips between realities. You gain truesight out to 30 feet, allowing you to see into the Ethereal Plane, as well as detect invisible creatures and objects within range.
-
Void Manifestation: Once per long rest, if you successfully absorb a spell, you can channel the void’s power to summon an ethereal tentacle in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of you. This tentacle lasts for 1 minute, appearing as a writhing black appendage of pure void energy.
-
As a bonus action on your turn, you can command the tentacle to lash out at a creature within 15 feet of it. The target must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence or Charisma modifier) or be grappled and restrained until the end of its next turn. The tentacle has an AC of 15 and HP equal to twice the absorbed spell’s level, and it disappears if reduced to 0 HP or after 1 minute.
-
If the absorbed spell was 5th level or higher, the tentacle also deals 2d8 force damage when it constricts a target.
