Instead of using your Inspiration to gain advantage on a die roll, you may spend your Inspiration on the following features:
- "I have a thing for that!" You may use DMI (and the required money) to "flashback" to purchasing a mundane item if you find yourself in a situation where you need it (for example, realizing you don't have any rope when preparing to scale the castle walls)
- "I know a guy!" Similarly, you may use a DMI to invent a contact who can be helpful in your current endeavors
- "I'm working on that!" Once per day you may use your DMI to tap into powers you haven't fully developed. You may do one of the following:
- Cast a spell from your class's spell list that you don't know. The spell may be no more than one level higher than the highest level spell you know for that class.
- Use a feature from your class's next level.
- Use a feat that is in alignment with the path your character is on
Note that "I'm working on that!" is meant to demonstrate character growth. When choosing to use a feat, the expectation is that it is a feat that your character might reasonably take at the next opportunity. It is not a requirement that your character MUST eventually take that feat, but please make a good-faith choice that supports the character growth story you're trying to tell. For example, but if you're playing a pure martial character who would never take a spellcasting level or feat, then please don't use this feature to use Magic Initiate. If you have never seen a sorcerer use metamagic and have no intention in dabbling in sorcery, please don't use Metamagic Adept.
