Carmine fever only effects humans, dwarfs, elves, and halflings.
Carmine fever is most common in children 5 to 15 years of age (human), 19 to 58 years of age (dwarf), 41 to 125 years of age (elf), and 10 to 35 years of age (halfling). Although Carmine fever was once considered a serious childhood illness, antibiotic and arcana treatments have made it less threatening. Still, if left untreated, Carmine fever can result in more-serious conditions that affect the heart, kidneys and other parts of the body.
