🦴 Flesh Untethering

Feat – Necromantic Ritual
Prerequisite: Ability to cast a necrotic spell, 16th level

You carry the shattered bones of a dragon bound in ancient rite — its soul, Tartari’kin the Bonebound, lies dormant until fed with death. Through the grotesque rite known as Flesh Untethering, you may awaken this spirit once per long rest.

Flesh Untethering (Ritual)

You may perform a 10-minute ritual on a humanoid corpse with intact bones. During the ritual:

  • You butcher the body, reducing it to a pile of steaming viscera and glistening bone.

  • The corpse is consumed, and its animating force fuels Tartari'kin.

At the ritual’s end, you cast a special version of Summon Draconic Spirit with the following changes:

Tartari’kin, the Bonebound

  • Type: Undead

  • Appearance: A skeletal dragon stitched with sinew, crowned with a broken horn and burning green eyes

  • Duration: 24 hours

  • Casting: Does not consume a spell slot, does not require concentration

  • Limit: You may only have one Bonebound dragon at a time. It vanishes if you summon it again, die, or fall unconscious.

Modifications

  • No Pack Tactics
    “You’re alone now, bone knight.”

  • Damage Reflavour Options:
    Choose one upon casting:

    • Death Cloud (Necrotic)

    • Soul Rot (Poison)

    • Flesh Rend (Acid)

    • Frozen Grave (Cold)

  • Resistance to Radiant Damage

  • Synergy:

    • Benefits from Grim Harvest and Undead Thralls as if it were an undead creature you raised

"The breaking of the body is the price of its rising. The dragon remembers what the soul forgets."
