You were altered by one of Bayoneta’s Echoes, a shadow of her will left behind to experiment on the living. The arcane and blood-forged trauma has left you with lingering magical mutations—and a psychic tether to the Vein-Forge itself. You gain the following benefits:
🩸 Residual Mutation
You gain resistance to psychic damage. In addition, you may roll an Arcana check (DC 15) once per long rest when encountering unknown magical effects or sigils; on success, you recall vague memories or flashes that give you advantage on your next Intelligence (Investigation) or Wisdom (Insight) check related to the magic's origin or purpose.
🧠 Echo Memory Surge
When you take psychic or necrotic damage, you may use your reaction to reveal a suppressed memory. Make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw:
-
On a success, regain 1 expended Warlock spell slot, and you have advantage on your next spell attack roll or saving throw against a creature tied to Bayoneta or her creations.
-
On a failure, you are stunned until the end of your next turn as a psychic echo overwhelms your thoughts.
You can use this feature once per long rest.
🕯️ Tether to the Vein-Forge
You carry a latent magical mark tied to the Vein-Forge. When within 500 ft. of a Vein-Forge node, ritual circle, or corrupted relic, you instinctively sense its presence (like the detect magic spell, no concentration).
Once per long rest, you may cast detect thoughts without expending a spell slot—but only to read non-humanoid or aberrant minds, such as mutated constructs, Echoes, or blood-forged guardians.
Narrative Tie-In:
This feat can help Hisk unravel the truth about his abduction, locate pieces of his past, and ultimately use his curse as a weapon against Tenebris and Bayoneta’s legacy. His bond with Hades may grow stronger—or unravel—based on what he discovers.
