Usurper of The Devourer Cartessa, you have ingested what should never have been touched by mortal flesh. And with every bite your form expands, your senses fracture, your name unravels. You are becoming the mouth of an ancient hunger.
The world is meat.
Memory is marrow.
You will feast.
You must.The question only stands:
Do you even know what you have done?
Your 'Fanged Bite' and 'Stalking Strikes' evolve, into 'Devouring Maw'. Which still counts as your Fanged Bite racial feature except it is now an unarmed attack and a natural weapon attack that deals 1d10 piercing damage on a hit, using your constitution modifier for attack and damage. While you are missing half or more of your hit points, you have advantage on attack rolls you make with this bite. All things consumed by you are destroyed in a manner similar to a 'Bag of Devouring'.
When you attack with this bite and hit a creature, or use a consumable that requires action economy to consume, you gain a charge of 'Cartessan Flux'; You gain the following effects based on how many charges you currently hold; to a maximum of your proficiency bonus plus your constitution modifier:
- 1 Charge; You channel the Trinket's flux through your body to improve your spellcasting. You gain a +1 to the save DC of your ranger spells per charge of 'Cartessan Flux'.
- 3 Charges; Your physical size grows to replicate that of the original Devourer. Your size doubles in all dimensions, and its weight is multiplied by eight, per 3 stacks of 'Cartessan Flux'. If there isn't enough room for you to double in size, you attain the maximum possible size in the space available. For every size category you are above medium, your 'Devouring Maw' deals an additional die of damage.
- 7 Charges; The Trinket recycles that which you consume into your metabolism, reshaping your physiology. Once per turn you may use a charge of 'Cartessan Flux' in place of Ki, a charge of 'Fanged Bite', or a hit dice.
- 12 Charges; Reaching a colossal size, the memory of the Original Devourer's hunger tries to reassert control. At the start of each of your turns, you must make an intelligence saving throw against your Ki save DC, or suffer the effects of the spell 'Enemies Abound', ignoring any immunity you may have. You gain a bonus to all non-intelligence based attacks, saves, and damage rolls, equal to your constitution modifier.
All charges of 'Cartessan Flux' are removed at the start of combat, or at the end of a short or long rest.
