Infusing an Object
Instead of creating a magic item with your Replicate Magic Item feature, when you finish a Long Rest you can touch a non-magical object and turn it a magic item based on one of the plans you know for the Replicate Magic Item feature. This infusion only works on certain kinds of objects, as appropriate for the magic item being replicated. Each infused object counts against the limit of magic items you can create and follows the rest of the rules for the Replicate Magic Item feature.
You can create a mix of infused objects and created magic items as long as this doesn't exceed the limit on how many items you can create and each plan is used only once. The infusion ends and the object ceases to be magical if you give up your knowledge of the Replicate Magic Item plan used to infuse the object, or use the plan to create a magic item or infuse another object. When the infused object ceases to be magical, the original non-magical object remains and does not vanish.
An infused object interacts with the following class features:
Drain Magic Item. The original non-magical object ceases to be magical but remains and does not vanish
Transmute Magic Item. An infused object can only be transmuted into a different magical item if it is a suitable object. For example, a wand infused to be a Wand of Magic Detection could be transmuted into a Wand of Secrets or a Wand of the War Mage +1, but not into a Weapon +1 or a Bag of Holding
Cheat Death. The original non-magical object is disintegrated as well as ceasing to be magical.
